For more than a decade FirePoint has been shipping true client server databases specifically designed for use in fire departments.  You don't have to go to school to become a "DBA".  FirePoint's server installs in about 10 minutes.  It's a snap to start and easy to maintain.

Client server technology was developed to operate databases over networks.  The concept utilizes a computer which operates 4D Server application software.  This is not a "shared data file".  4D Server is an application that executes procedures and serves records requested by client workstations.

Client workstations can be any other PC on the network.  These PC's are used for server access and data entry.  FirePoint client software connects to 4D Server.  Since both the client and the server PC's work together you get the speed of two PC's working together to process your requests.  Network computing becomes very efficient.
